Instagram Feed element from Max Addons allows you to display your Instagram feed on your WordPress site using Bricks Builder without needing to embed any code. This element offers multiple layout options and various styling features, allowing you to match the feed's design to your website.
Additionally, you can connect multiple Instagram accounts and display them across different pages or posts.
To display images from your Instagram account, you'll need to generate an Instagram Access Token.
In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to create an access token.

How to Generate Instagram Access Token for Instagram Feed Element#
1: Create an App in the Meta Developers Dashboard#
Start by visiting the Facebook for Developers website, then click My Apps in the top-right corner of the screen. This will open the apps dashboard.

From here, click the Create App button.

A pop-up window will appear with information about creating apps. Click Create App again to proceed.

2: Provide Basic App Information#
Next, enter a few basic details for the app.
- App Name: You can enter any name. For example: Instagram Feed Integration
- App Contact Email: Enter the email address you want Meta to use for communication.

After filling in these details, click Next.
3: Select the App Use Case#
The next screen will ask you to define how your app will be used.
To view all available options, click All in the filter section.

From the list of use cases that appear, select Manage Messaging and Content, then continue by clicking Next.

4: Choose a Business Portfolio (Optional)#
Next, you need to connect the app with a Business Portfolio.
If you already have one set up, you can select it from the list.
If you don’t use a business portfolio, simply select: I don’t want to connect a business portfolio yet.
Then click Next to continue.

5: Review App Requirements#
You’ll now see a summary of the permissions your app requires to access Instagram data. These may include permissions such as:
- Accessing Instagram business account information
- Managing comments
- Handling Instagram messages
No additional configuration is needed here. Simply click Next to proceed.

On the final overview page, review the app details and click Go to Dashboard.

6: Access the Instagram Configuration#
After clicking Go to Dashboard, you will be redirected to the app dashboard.
Look for the App Customization section. Within this section, select Customize the “Manage messaging & content on Instagram” use case.

7: Add Your Instagram Account as a Tester#
Before generating the access token, your Instagram account must be added as a tester.
From the left-side navigation menu, open App Roles, then select Roles.

Click Add People to add a new tester account. A dialog box will appear.

In the box, choose Instagram Tester, then enter the username of the Instagram account you want to connect. After entering the username, click Add.

8: Accept the Tester Invitation#
Now log in to the Instagram account you added as a tester and open the Settings section.

Navigate to Apps and Websites under Website Permissions.

Inside the Tester Invites tab, you will find the invitation sent from Meta.
Click Accept to confirm the tester request.

Once the invitation is accepted, the Instagram account will be successfully linked to the app.
9: Generate the Instagram Access Token#
Return to the Meta Developers dashboard.
Open the Customize the Manage messaging & content on Instagram section again and locate the Generate Access Tokens area.
Click Generate Token.

A login window will appear, prompting you to sign in to Instagram.

Log in using your Instagram Business or Creator account.
Next, authorize the app to access your Instagram account. Review the permissions and click Allow to continue.

10. Copy the Generated Access Token#
After authorization is complete, your Instagram Access Token will be generated.
Simply copy the token to the clipboard. You can use this token to display your Instagram feed on your WordPress website using Bricks Builder.

Add the Instagram Access Token to the Instagram Feed Element#
There are two ways to use the Instagram Access Token.
Method 1#
Use this method to display the Instagram Feed from a single account on your website.
- Navigate to Dashboard >> Bricks >> Max Addons >> Integration.
- Add the access token we generated in the previous step to the Instagram Access Token field, then click Save Changes.
- Now go to the Bricks editor, drag and drop the Max Addons' Instagram Feed element, and save the page.

Method 2#
Use this method to display Instagram Feeds from multiple accounts on your website.
- Go to the Bricks editor, drag and drop the Instagram Feed element.
- Turn off the Global Access Token option.
- Now, add the access token we generated in the previous step to the Custom Access Token field and save the page.
