Rating Element for Bricks Builder: Overview

Rating Element in Max Addons for Bricks Builder helps you show ratings in a clean and visual way. You can use it to display star ratings, product scores, reviews, or feedback on any page.

This element gives you full control over:

  • how many rating icons you want
  • which icon style you use
  • colors for filled and unfilled icons
  • size and spacing of the icons

It works well for product pages, testimonials, review sections, and comparison layouts.


Getting Started#

Before using the Rating element, make sure the following plugins/tools are installed and active on your WordPress website:

Once both tools are active, you’re ready to add the Rating element to your page.

Where Can You Use the Rating Element?#

You can use the Rating Element in many places, such as:

  • product ratings on product pages
  • customer review sections
  • testimonial cards
  • service quality ratings
  • feature comparison tables

Example:

You can display a 4-star rating below a product title or in a testimonial box.

How to Add the Rating Element#

  1. Open a page in the Bricks Builder editor, or create a new one.
  2. In the search bar, type “rating”.
  3. Add the Rating element to your page.
  4. Make sure you see the “MAX” label in the top-left corner of the element that indicates it’s the Rating element from Max Addons.

When you select the element, you’ll see its customization options organized under two tabs:

  • Content
  • Style

Content Tab Settings#

All the main controls for the Rating Element are available under the Content tab. Let’s go through each option one by one.

Rating Scale#

The Rating Scale option lets you choose the total number of icons shown.

Example:

  • If you set the scale to 5, the rating will be shown out of 5 icons.
  • If you set it to 10, the rating will be shown out of 10 icons.

Common use case:

  • Use 5 for star ratings (most common)
  • Use 10 for detailed scoring systems.

Rating#

The Rating option controls how many icons are marked (filled).

Example:

  • Rating Scale: 5
  • Rating: 4

This will show 4 filled icons and 1 unfilled icon. You can adjust this to visually represent:

  • Product quality
  • User satisfaction
  • Service performance

Icon#

The Icon option lets you choose the icon used for the rating. You can select different icons, such as:

  • Stars
  • Hearts
  • Thumbs
  • Custom icons available in Bricks

Example:

  • Use stars for product reviews.
  • Use hearts for likes or favorites.
  • Use thumbs for approval ratings.

Marked Icon Color#

This option controls the color of the filled (active) icons.

Example:

  • Yellow or gold for star ratings
  • Green for positive feedback
  • Brand color for consistency with your website

Unmarked Icon Color#

The Unmarked Icon Color controls the color of icons that are not filled.

Example:

  • Light gray for inactive stars
  • Muted color to keep focus on the filled rating

Icon Size#

The Icon Size option lets you increase or decrease the size of the rating icons.

Example:

  • Smaller icons for compact layouts like cards or tables
  • Larger icons for hero sections or featured reviews

Icon Spacing#

The Icon Spacing option controls the gap between each icon.

Example:

  • Tight spacing for minimal designs
  • More spacing for bold and clear layouts
